Instructions

  • Place a medium saucepan over low heat then add in the butter and granulated sugar then heat.
  • Once both melts, cook for another 3 - 4 minutes until the mixture becomes golden brown in color. Don’t forget to stir periodically.
  • Next, add in the heavy cream then boil.
  • Decrease the heat and simmer for about seven to ten minutes, stirring periodically until the mixture becomes caramel in color and very thick.
  • Once cooked, take caramel sauce out of the heat then add in the vanilla extract.
